Starting a Blog has become really easy these days. Anyone can easily start and launch a Blog based on their preferences i.e. either free or paid. I have been writing from about a few months and being a new Blogger, not knowing how everything works, I made a few mistakes. I did not launch my Blog right.

First and the foremost work done on the Blog after purchasing hosting is setting up the Blog such that readers can easily navigate and access the information. Also, the design should be good enough. What will happen if the visitors to your Blog are unable to read everything properly because of fonts and all? What if they aren’t able to reach your Blog posts due to poor navigation system?

The self-taught Bloggers who are completely new in blogging field may not know what to do at the launch time.To make it easier for you to get set go on and launching your Blog the right way, I have mentioned all the basic things that need to be done before launching the Blog.

Things you need to do before launching your Blog :-

No matter your Blog has been already launched or is in the process of launching, your Blog must have these elements. Make sure your Blog has them all.

1. Create all the important Blog pages

Few Blog pages are must haves for a Blog.

About Page

Every Blog needs an about page to introduce the readers to the Blog. On this page what you want your readers to talk about your Blog. This page basically puts on a first impression, and gets to know about the writer. Your writing skills really matter here, so write in a interesting, easily understandable manner. Add images, videos, any such thing you can to make it more interesting. Also add links to a few Blog posts that you want your readers to read.

Contact Page

How can your readers contact to you? Mention your email address. You can also add a Contact form on this page which makes it easier for the readers to contact you.

Terms and privacy page

Terms and privacy page is also one of the most important Blog pages. Your readers should know how you are going to use any information they enter on your Blog. You need this page to ensure them that the information like email addresses, name and other details are not being used for any other purpose than expected.

You can add more pages if you like according to your Blog design and layout.

2. Work on the design of your Blog

Ofcourse you may be changing your Blog design later, but whatever you have currently, it should look decent. Choose themes according to the subject of your Blog. If your Blog uses less images, choose the theme designed for that type of Blog.

In the starting you may not know what type of theme you would like to have and would look good with your Blog type. So, you can just use a free theme. Also, a proper navigation system, menus and all should be there.

3. Add a Logo, Header and a Tagline

You need a Logo and a header. Although you can design and add a Header later but a logo is necessary. Ofcourse creating a Logo may seem difficult, but to make it easy, try experimenting with fonts. Logo is important for every Blog.

A tagline is basically a short sentence generally about 10 words which describes your Blog.

4. Add necessary widgets

Subscription form to let the readers subscribe to your Blog posts, newsletters i.e. email subscription form is necessary.

If you want to offer your readers to follow your posts, you should create such a form. You need other widgets like the one listing recent posts, another one for your profile, and a lot more. You can add your Instagram profile, Twitter tweets, Facebook images or some other social media using a widget.

5. Insert sharing buttons

If you use Jetpack, sharing buttons must be already present with your posts.

But still make sure your posts and other shareable content is easy to share.

It is necessary for the purpose of increasing Blog traffic. You can even install a few plugins for customising the sharing buttons according to how you like.

6. Make sure your Blog is both mobile and desktop friendly

The times have changed and most of the communications these days are done with the help of mobile devices.

The main device used to access information online is a smartphone.

If your website is not mobile friendly, your visitors would face issues in accessing the information from your Blog.

Make your posts easy to read on almost any device.

7. Security and back up

Ofcourse you just started your Blog so maybe you would back-up later. But once you start working, make sure your content is safe. And security is really important.

For security, you can use various plugins. If you have a free Blog from wordpress for instance, you may not add plugins on your own. But you can back up data regularly. In the worst case, you can just reset everything and upload data instantly.

What all you need to do before launching your Blog also depends a lot on the type of Blog. The points mentioned above are necessary for every Blog. If you have anything to ask or share, comment below.
